Proposed Pine Brook Park Playground Renovation
Please consider making a donation to the Pine Brook Park Playground Renovation Project.
The Pine Brook Association is working with the Village of Larchmont to once again renovate the playground at Pine Brook Park to update the park with new equipment, a new safety surface, and landscaping. The park was last renovated in 1999. Since then some of the playground equipment has been damaged and appropriately removed, but was not replaced. The Pine Brook Association's renovation project seeks to add play equipment that is designed for younger park users and that is also handicap accessible.
The new playground will provide fun for the children who live in the area. In addition, when the children of Pine Brook residents come back to visit Larchmont, they will be able to bring their children to the park, and create new memories of Pine Brook Park. The Association aims to bring back some of the playground equipment that is nostalgic to those who lived in the Pine Brook community in the 1980s and 1990s.
The renovation plan calls for two Sand Digger toys (one handicap accessible), which allow users to move sand from one pile to another and even race one another. Other children's toys include ride-on bouncers, which will look like a chipmunk and a duck (both animals which can be found in or around Larchmont), a SeeSaw, and a large attractive sandbox. In addition, there will be larger playground equipment, a three part Choo-Choo wooden train and a multi-part pirate ship.
This project will also improve the landscaping. Such updates will include new benches, new ground material for the updated playground, a new and more stable support wall, and new trees. Much of this landscaping is being donated by Larchmont Nurseries.
